National Japanese Honor Society (JNHS)

  • Eligible after taking Japanese for 2 semesters
  • Be a part of various cultural activities and events (I-Nite, Variety Show, Japanese New Year Festival, J-Day, Japanese Exchange Program)

National Japan Bowl Club

Japanese Culture Club (JCC)

  • Open to all TJ students
  • Various cultural activities each week, including
    • Making sushi
    • Games
    • Calligraphy
    • Anime
    • Taiko Drum

Otaku (aka Anime)

  • Open to all TJ students
  • Watch selected anime from Japan (open source)

Exchange Programs

Trip to Japan

  • Trip will be held every other year during July (2015, 2017, 2019…)
  • Chiben Gakuen HS is our long-time partner school for the exchange program. 
  • Three-week long homestay at Chiben HS
  • One week trip to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara.
